I have a 2012 328XI E91 Sportwagon with a staggered setup on performance tires.
I don't want to upset the way the car handles now. I will be putting the performance tires back on in the summer while living in Europe; there is a lot of rubber left on them.

A non-staggered setup - usually 225/45R17 all around - is the usual for a winter setup. It's also a little less expensive, and much easier to find the tires for.
The fact of the matter is, you always have to accept some loss of performance when going to a winter tire; that loss will probably swamp any difference from the non-staggered setup. The non-staggered will actually reduce understeer a bit, which could be considered a gain in performance. |
