brake fault

i have a bmw 3 series 320 i 2008 model and i had a brake warning light come on and power was cut i went to a dealer who said its a common fault of 3 series i had to buy a new unit and get it fitted my car only done 20000 miles which i think is very poor for a good car i posted this to see what u think am from the uk
