First post!

Hey everyone, I'm just wondering what insight you guys can give on this one:

http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ra...115359370.html

1998 328IS 5 spd for $1500

I'm looking to get a BMW and with the exception of all the cons he listed, the car is a pretty decent value if it still runs well. But really I have no idea so I was wondering if you guys have any input and wisdom to share.

I'd like to stop by and look at it within the next couple of days before he scraps it off CL.

Thanks!

Deosn't look too bad. It's worth cehcking out at least. Looks as if there's only cosmetic issues mainyl. I would offer 1200. Would probably take a couple grand to get it running real good and looking good. Maybe more depending on the body condition.

Damn, somebody buy that 535is, quickly. If it's solid (no rust), it would be an excellent project car.

I wish this wagon was a 5-speed so bad... Might buy it anyway. It's not like a stick would be that much fun in a Volvo wagon anyway.

Yeah, and with that price, I wouldn't be surprised if he sells it today. Unfortunately, I don't get my license back until tomorrow. :/

Bummer...have anyone that could take you to look at it? If so you could always give a small deposit to hold for you.

What I want to know is why people can't figure out that if you want to sell a car online, you need to take photos which show the whole car... I mean, couldn't that person have stepped back a little bit and gotten the entire car in the frame? How brain dead do you need to be to not realize that?

Yeah, it does look pretty clean. Shame about the auto trans, though. It's refreshing to see an E36 that hasn't been modified. It took me a very long time to find one that was simultaneously A) bone stock, and B) not beat up.

That m3 is wow-ch, a lot of $$$.

The z is low mileage because they only use it to go mudding, obviously...

My thought was the Z is so low mileage because its probably the 1.9L, meaning they were scared to drive it for fear of getting run over while trying to accelerate.

The M3 is sweet but the color matched trim is blech.

Actually, to me the tires just look oxidized, not muddy. That happens from sitting and never being used, washed, or treated.

Thinking about it... Assuming it's a manual since he says he replaced the slave cylinder.
