Accelerator Booster question

Hello all,

I am considering buying an accelerator booster (i.e. the Sprint Booster). I am talking about the gadget that hooks up to your gas pedal that helps remove the delay that is often felt when accelerating. I have two questions:

1) does anyone know of any downsides or drawbacks to using one of these, and in particular, will this void the warranty in any way?

2) i am aware of the "Sprint Booster" which seems to be fairly common on many i-net sites. But i seems to recall seeing a more recent generation one that i now cannot find. Anybody know the name and best location to get the "latest" model?

Here is large thread on the Sprint Booster.

According to the manufacturer it does not affect your warranty, but knowing BMW they would probably try to blame a SprintBooster to attempt to void warranty work. To be safe you could pull it out before bringing in the car for service. I can't see it causing any harm, it just remaps your throttle.

I prefer a linear throttle so I am not a fan personally but many people like the Sprint Booster.
