Last few issues

sounds good, i plan to remove the cat and just weld in a straight pipe, are there any issues with that?

if you wanna go straight pipe there are no issues as long as you:
A) dont live in california (and you dont so props)
B) dont have OBDII (which you don't so consider yourself a lucky bastard).

If you need some smog tippery.. I've got a some goodies.

I run a hi-flow CAT on almost all my cars.. Just cuz.
No need to gross pollute for no reason.

Straight pipes are for track.

You will actually appreciate the driveability of the car WITH a CAT
rather than the car WITHOUT a CAT.

ok thanks for the opinions, my cat seems to be worn down and rattling, so i think untill i can afford to buy a newer cat ill just delete it.

if it already passed smog then just leave it. no reason to spend more money.

I say blow the fck-er out..
Run it until you have to replace.. Its just exhaust.
Since you dont have emissions, and visual inspection, just let it ride.

new o2 sensor in, cut off the cat and welded it up, has ALOT more power now and the check engine light does not come on.

For the record i know that the power gain is more then likely from having a working o2 sensor and not the cat, just though i would put it out there.

Yeah i did the whole exhaust was pretty choppy already and whomever installed the last cat ****ed it up ( pictured)


my to do list includes cosmetics, exhaust, and brakes so im not too worried


AND Yes, it really does, its been alota work but its a great feeling knowing everything that wares out is new or newer.

When you do your exhaust.. PROPERLY..
Minimize bends..
I hate flanges.. so i went for v-bands.. a world of difference..
Make your cat/centerpipe removable.. for those "occasions"

sad news of the day.. i was just rearended. luckily i saw it coming and was able to start moving away from the oncoming car but shes still smashed up

the bumper is trashed, the section in between the trunk and bumper is mangled, the exhaust tip is bent, one tail light has a small crack, the spare tire well is bent so i cant get it out, the rear bumper support is smashed in, im assuming that the trunk lid is bent too as it wont close properly,


just looking at it it seems very minor, sadly i think its a bit worse then it looks.


im on the fence of weather or not to try and get them to total it or not. Any idea what they would try and give me? if not im gonna fix it myself and get a nice check.

Oh, there's no question they're going to total it. It's only a matter of whether or not you want to keep the car and fix it yourself. Repairing the section underneath the truck between the tails requires cutting out the entire section which includes the taillight sections and welding in a replacement. In other words, not a super quick repair... You're a resourceful fellow, though, so I'm sure you could figure out a way to get it done. On the other hand, it seems that insurance adjusters tend to provide good payouts for E36s, so you might be able to scrap it and get a nicer one.

oh there is no doubt ill buy it back if its totaled, just weather or not it i would keep it or just part it out. we will see as time goes on what the outcome will be.

yup mechanically it was done, some cosmetic work and it would have been done, sadly.. **** happens, and life goes on.

The insurance finally decided they would work with me and payed out $3300 and threw in the car for free.
