TMS vs. Bavauto Chips

My car is still running in same condition as posted before. I'm keeping an eye out for an M50TU (or preferably an M52) to swap but in the mean time: CHIP WARS!!!

As im surre y'all know, I have a BavAuto chip and at first it was great, i was 17 or 18 and go-fast parts on my bimmer were "totally rad bro". but i've come to be bored (?) with it, but more so unimpressed. I was looking at other chips and felt the BavAuto was lacking on many other things that I couldve had. I've been meaning to upgrade the chip to something else for a long long time now and decided to finally bite the bullet;picked up a TMS chip. (thats Turner Motorsports for all you noobs ) I know robertobaggio will be P.O.'d that i didn't get an S50 tune chip to drop in when I do my cams but i'll crossthat bridge when i come to it.

BavAuto:
Claims-
+14 hp
+17 lb-ft
6800 rpm redline

Turner:
Claims-
+22 hp
+20 lb-ft
7000 rpm redline

when it is installed, I will give you "Seat Of The Pants" dyno results

My Other Performance Modifications inclue:
K&N Drop-in filter
S52 Headers

Looking forward to the comparison. However, for the sake of pseudoscience, make sure to change ONLY the chip before you do your (butt) dyno run. If you make the other changes, you introduce other variables and will not be able to pseudoscientifically tell us results of the chip swap.

Turner chip is in. Car fired right up (after a few hiccups and some back and forth with the guy I got it from) but I haven't driven it yet.

Road test will be after work today, couldn't resist taking the E28 up the twistes to the office!

Anyone ever dyno tested stock vs E.T.A chip? I have had one in my 95 for at least 6 years. I know it seems to offer a real boost in low end.

rdc, if you'd like, I'll give you $25 and pay to ship both chips both ways if you'd like to exchange for a week or so so that I may add the review and results of that also, we can work something out.

Nice Idea, but No. My car is a daily driver and I need it every day for work. I am also concerned that it may not work on your 95. Mine was bulit 1/95 and has the newer security system. I think it is called EWS II??. I had to wait unitil Mark Dysilva with EAT figured out how to break the code-so to speak.
Again No thank you. I apppreciate the offer

So be it, that's understandable. Mine was produced in 9/94.

I drove the car

BavAuto is a freakin joke. TURNER is a much mor smooth, clean, linear powerband. Also, I have a much more powerful feel in the low end. Much more than BavAuto. Also, the rev limit is much more enjoyable. The Tirned seems much more performance oriented rather than a boost in daily drivability.
