i found hifi speaker near driver seat instead of harman kardon speaker
bmw beat me !

HOW CAN I ??

Welcome to the forum. I understand that as you are in Korea English is not your first language. However, what you just posted makes very little sense.

Are you saying you specifically ordered the HK stereo and did not receive it? Is it listed on the window sticker, etc for your car?

sorry for poor english but

F30 Luxury model include harman kardon system default in korea but there was a different speaker(hifi loud speaker) only 1ea in the door . service center confirms the truth but BMW do not reply , i demanded report of this unbelievable happenning

Annyong haseyo. Are there a small speakers in the doors next to the outside mirrors? Is there a speaker in the floor under the driver's seat and under the passenger seat?

i noticed that the speaker which is installed driver's seat & passenger seat were not same model -_-

yep it has a center speaker

Not sure what you mean there. If the car has Logic7 it does have the HK stereo. In the U.S. the presence of the dashboard speaker behind the iDrive screen indicates having the HK/Logic7 stereo.

I think he's saying that the actual speaker installed is not labeled HK brand. Perhaps in Korea the HK refers to the head unit or the HK licensed sound technology but not necessarily the HK branded speakers? Just a thought.

Not sure if that is true...I have non HK and there is a center channel speaker behind I drive screen (unless it's just a grille with nothing behind it or something).

Here's my Sportline non-HK...I can feel vibration coming from there when music is on as well...

Sounds like he has the correct system but has a single speaker, the drivers side, which is not the correct speaker (hifi instead of Harmon Kardon) for the system installed in the car. I think what he wants is for BMW to put an HK speaker in the drivers side door so all speakers match and are the correct speakers for the installed system.

Pictures are extremely helpful when there's this much of a language barrier. Got any pictures f30 holic?

The magnets are different, for certain. This could be because any number of reasons. I know that many manufacturers claim to tailor the sound systems to the specific interior of the particular car and model. This could be BMW's way of doing that.....having different speakers, tuned differently, depending on where they are located in the car.

It's an unusual way of doing it, but could be one reason. The speaker pictured on the left looks of lower quality (smaller magnet) than the picture on the right. Without seeing them, I could be wrong, though.

One thing to keep in mind, these stereos are engineered to be in a car, where temperatures are extreme, and they are subject to constant vibration. That reason alone makes makes for some unusual components.


Does it sound bad? I would take it to your dealer and ask what their explanation is.

I think it's amazing/crazy that he removed the speakers on a brand new $40,000-$50,000 car just to see what kind of drivers were installed.

You are becoming somewhat hostile and that is uncalled for. People are asking you to talk to BMW because they are the only ones who can explain this. What has your dealer said about it? Have you tried calling the BMW corporate offices in Korea because they would generally be interested in trying to help you.

You are asking if this is normal but it is a lot to expect that one of the tiny number of owners here with HK systems have taken the car apart.

Looks like they should use the same part numbers on each side, here's the part numbers from realoem:
