Retractable Shade

I have an 2005 X5 4.8is & the retractable shade that pulls up out of the rear door behind the drivers seat side broke somewhat. I just wanted to know if anyone had to have one replaced, & how much did the unit cost & to have it put in?

I superglued mine about 6 months ago, and it has held up very well.

Get office paper binder clips, pull the screen out, clip it and then you can work on it. Good luck!

I thought of doing that if it cost too much to replace. Considering, my shade only broke at the top plastic strip portion on the right hand corner at the hole where the hook inserts. However, it didn't fall into the door. I saved the broken pieces, so I will give it a try. I heard it was a pricey unit ($300 to $500) plus labor.

Yes, my memory was $300+, silly for something like that!
