IDrive
How do I check to see what version my IDrive is? My car was manufactured on 12/04. I want to make sure I can upgrade the MP3 feature myself without going to the stealership for a software upgrade.

There is a thread on the sequence of knob turns, presses and which direction to hold your tongue while standing on one foot.
Do a search for softwware version.

Yep, you press & hold down the iDrive for 10 seconds, then release & follow with 3 clicks to the right then 3 clicks to the left, 1 click right, 1 left, 1 right & finally press down iDrive once briefly.
