Faster Lines for U.S. Citizens Promised for London Heathrow

This sounds like a reasonable plan to me. I wonder if there will be a Fast Track Fast Track, however, for first- and business-class passengers.

Heathrow Airport to Expedite Passport Controls for U.S. Citizens, Others, with Fast Track

The United Kingdom will offer travelers from the United States and “old Commonwealth” countries faster immigration clearance with separate fast-track passport lanes after the Olympic Games.

That will be fantastic if it actually happens. The reality is more likely going to be a plastic sign over an understaffed desk.


In other news, 5,500 UK border agents are planning a one day strike on Thursday.

The main reason for the strike is to call attention to a shortage of staff. If you think a 2 hour wait at immigration is bad, try getting a visa extension.
