go on google and tap in, remove x 5 door pannel, show u in pics exactly what to do. be aware of a few things though, dont remove torx from door handle behind strip, it does not just lift off like it says ! there are retaining clips along the top and u have to pop them off, there is a clip holding the panel on in the middle of the card, put the metal part into the door first then the plastic piece in the pannel then pop them together when u replace the pannel.

Zmbombr,

Did you find out what the trick was to get the center clip off? I'm having the same issues and don't want to break it.

Just grap the panel at both end ( left and right ) then put it straight out and upward.

Here's a DIY for the front door panel removal. Yes, you should remove the battery for safety when working with the side airbags.

I ended up setting my air bag lamp. I replaced the window regulator and needed to raise the regulator to get at the bolts. I had the airbag removed from the door. When I turned the key on it set the airbag warning lamp and now it is on full time. No scanner I have found will clear it. I don't want to go to dealer and pay for just resetting the lamp. Any other way to clear the lamp?

You can buy the airbag scan tool B800 for $25 or less. Works great.
