M6 Problems

Hello
i am looking to get a 2007-08 M6 coupe with manual transmission
can anybody tell me of its reliability-problem i need to be aware of?
really appreciate any input on the car

How many miles does it have? Does it still have the original warranty?

I have an SMG transmission and I haven't had any problems. But going with the manual you should have considerably less problems transmission wise.

the car has approximately 49,00 miles.
it still has the original existing warranty but probably until 50,00 miles
it is a 2008 year model
besides the transmission what would i have to look out for

Well its a bmw expect electrical problems. But its too new to have major known issues. Buy extended warrnty 100%

What electrical problems are you talking about?

My 08 has 41k miles so that's not to bad, but yes i would recommend buying the extended warranty with the maintenance plan. It is like $175 each oil change but with the maintenance warranty it is free. Brake jobs are around $3500 without the warranty so you can see how things add up real quick.

Already plan on spending 2k each time you need new tires. If your worrying about gas $$ you shouldn't even be looking at this car because it will suck down $120 in gas a week + or - depending on your driving style. I know i fill up about 2 1/2 times a week on average but I have a pretty heavy foot. My ///M6 is my DD but i only drive 15 miles a day round trip to and from work.

Make sure before you buy the vehicle you have a certified BMW technician do a full inspection on the vehicle. You CANNOT trust carfax it is to easy to get a carfax changed on a vehicle that has been wrecked.

Other than that just plan on getting stares and asked questions about it everyday! But hey you should already expect this when your riding in a beast like this.
