Delivery Timeframe?
Ordered my 2013 X1 on July 9. Midnight Blue/Coral Red, Sport Line, xDrive, every package except for lighting. Production was finished on July 19th and now is sitting at the port, waiting transport. I read somewhere that they are holding up on US shipping until the 'official' release date in September. Does anyone know if that is correct? I was excited that it made it that far that quickly, but now may have to wait regardless.

It will be September by the time the car arrived in US. I know the wait is unbearable, but waiting is part of the fun, and it will make you appreciate your car even more.
I had placed my order late June and won't get to see it until October 12 in Munich. Then, there's another 8-10 weeks for the car to make its way to me. I can use the car as my wife's Christmas present. It's like killing 2 birds with 1 stone.

With the metallic paint, Sport Line, xdrive, Cold Weather pkg, Ultimate pkg, Satellite radio, and destination, it stickered for $43,395. Invoice is $40,070. I paid $40,800 (less taxes). First time out of my three BMW factory orders I did not have to pay sticker. They did pretty well on my 2010 Audi A4 trade also. I knew my numbers going in and basically had the attitude of they were not 'selling' me a car. I knew exactly what I wanted and they were merely placing an order for me and prepping the car when it arrived. They were more than accomodating. I was in and out of there within an hour. Sewickley BMW, awesome dealership so far.

IE - will my earliest Munich date be after yours, or did you wish to be later? |

While our cars wait at port, I hope they aren't exposed to the elements... |

on some other BMW blog, can't even remember which. then another said they ordered at the end of June and it was just placed on a cargo ship. I believe shipping from Germany to Baltimore is approx. 12 days, then a few more on the covered car carrier to your dealer. My thought too was that it was sitting on some seagull-ridden dock, covered in crap, waiting to board

When you place your ED order, you'll have to give them 3 prefered pick up dates. If you want to pick up as soon as possible, then you can try giving them 3 dates about 5-7 weeks away. If they can't do it, they will come back to you.
