ED front license plate
I live in a state that has no front license plate. I think I read somewhere that you can get your car built with no license plate frame on the front bumper.
If you do that how do they mount the plate on ED? |

Double stick tape.

Thanks. Now I remember someonene saying how hard it was to get the tape of.
So, the inevitable follow-up question: what is the best way to get the tape off? |

I would think your dealership would take care of that during redelivery in the States?

You can get an Euro plate frame at any car dealer in Germany.

So if you don't want the front license plate bracket back in the states but still want to keep the euro plate, can you ask the dealer to save the plate but put 2 hole stoppers into the holes for the bracket then?

Umm, there won't be any holes. Unless the US dealer drills them. ED front plate is on with tape.

Ah, I see. How easy is it to ask dealers not to drill 2 holes in the front for the US plate? Or do they do it on every new car once it's in the inventory?

If you pickup at the PDC, no problem. They do not drill unless you are there watching.
I would put it on my contract if dealer is receiving it. Then they will have to fix it if they goof up. |

No more drilled front bumpers???!!!! Yes! Sorry folks, its been a while since my last ED and I am glad that they changed this policy. Is there anything special I have to do to ensure that nobody mistakenly drills holes in my bumper? - I live in a state where front plates are not required.

Only place where holes may get drilled into your front bumper is the dealer.
So ask them to NOT drill any holes for the front license plates. Depending on how good your relationship is it should not be a problem. Some dealers will give you a hard time getting an inspection sticker if you don't have the mandatory front license plates on the car. In this case just attach them with double sided tape for the inspection.... (or use one of the tow hook license plate holders)
