Amid the Kiosks, Elite Treatment From a Gate Agent

"Here you go, my dear," Ms. Heberer said to the university dean from Florida, confessing later that when Mr. Angelo said he'd known her for years, she had to pretend to remember him.

In the kiosk era of self-service travel, when travelers often think customer service flew away with airline meals and free checked bags, Ms. Heberer is a rarity...

Met many similar gate agents with her attitude.

OTOH, I have met a few others who would fit in quite well at Stalag Luft 3.

Nope, I really did mean Stalag Luft 3 of "The Great Escape" where a friend of mine spent several months as a POW. OTOH, Sgt Schultz would make a fine Sprit Airlines Employee
