Good DIY. Your car didn't come with FTM or TPS? Mine came with FTM

At it again. Great info as usual. I have TPMS is that basically the same as FTM? Or would I need to switch too that?

TPMS uses sensors in the rim to sense the tire pressure...thats why you news to have sensors added to each rim when you change rims. FTM is as ACE described in an earlier thread ...uses a measurement of the rotation of the wheels compared again each other to determine if a tire has gone flat. A flat tire would have a smaller circumference in reference to the other tires so it would need to rotate faster to keep the car going straight. This is what the car uses to determine if there is a flat tire.

Since the TPMS system actually measures pressure in the tires with a sensor I would think it would be more accurate in determining a flat tire quicker than FTM...just a guess. I have FTM but I haven't actually had a flat tire.
