Had to school the valet

So Friday night I decided to take my super hot trophy to dinner at the Merrick Inn. On the way there I was griping about the last time I valeted my car there. At that time I was still in my lovely 750i. I left my car overnight as we took a limo downtown. The next morning I picked it up and it sat in my garage for about a week. The next time I drove it I noticed a repulsive gouge in the drivers side rear fender. Apparently the valet had backed it over a curb.

I was hoping to find a suitable spot for my M6, unfortunately the lot was full, and the only way I was getting a good spot was with the valet service. Parked out front was a C6 vette, followed by an Escalade, and then an S550. The escalade was taking up at least two spots, and as I pulled up to the valet hut it drove away.

As I came to a stop I strategically down shifted and my V10 let out a godly roar. The valet walked up to my window and asked for the keys. My reply, "the last time I valeted my 750 it got ****ed up". I was trying to be nice so I didn't mention that it was likely due to his, or one of his coworkers negligence.

I pointed to the 30 foot strip of parking space the escalade had left and told the valet that I didn't want anyone touching my car and that I would park there.

There was enough room for at least one other car to park, but I made sure to park in a way that no one else would be able to pull in near me. Some would say that three cars could have been parked in the space I took with my two door race car.

As we stepped out of the car quite a few jaws dropped. Not sure if they were looking at the car or my fiancé, but that doesn't matter. As I walked away from my car the valet asked for my keys. My response, "Why"?

He told me that he may need to move my car. I quickly snapped back in a pretentious tone, "I would prefer that my car isn't moved" as I continued into the restaurant.

The icing on the cake; I actually tipped him with a crisp $20 (probably made his day), and I stayed in first gear the whole way out of the parking lot as to make my V10 hum.

My fiancé made a funny comment earlier. She said, "you actually paid him to not touch your car"! Lol!

Just wanted to share with my friends. Anyone else have this happen?

If I feel like someone isn't impressed by my car I like to crack the passenger window and flash the trophy. Works like a charm.

Ok, here is the delima we all go through. Every time someone drives my car I feel like I need to interview them and make sure they know how to use the transmission, press the brake to start, etc. I feel like such an a hole but I can't help it.

I loved the transmission shifter at the steering wheel on the 7. Sometimes I still reach for it. The biggest thing I miss (other than the awesome seats) is the center console that was like a nice piece of furniture. What other car has the two drawer? Wish I could have both cars. Hopefully later in life.

Oh there are pictures, you'll just have to look around This trophy is definitely a trophy!

That's an excellent story David. I had a similar thing happen at the Paris in Las Vegas. I simply drove up to one of the spots near the front entrance right next to a Rolls Royce Phantom, handed the Valet guy $20 and walked away, no questions asked

So today my fiancé called me and said, "I love your friend Suri"! I was like what the ****?? Ends up she is stalking me on Bfest. Saw your comments and she was flattered! Thanks Suri!!

To the fiancé, quit reading my posts.

My parents just got back from a trip to Vegas. My dad goes out there twice a year for the furniture shows. Said it is hotter in Lexington than it is there.

They sent me a bunch of pictures of nice cars. I remember as soon as I landed on of the first cars I saw was a Phantom. Only the second one I had seen in my life. Here is the best they sent me.

Suri, saw in another thread that you drove a B7? I'm very jealous.

I'm still on a natural high from the whole thing.

Haha that's great to hear! Tell her I love her too

I've only seen the World Market Center a few times from the outside as the general public isn't allowed in but it's beautiful. It's right by this neurology clinic that looks like it was designed by the same architect who designed the Sydney Opera House.

That Ferrari is beautiful! I ran into someone the other day that just put in an order for a 458 Spyder. I guess there's a huge waiting list

And that is true sir I was amazed with how powerful it was. The only thing that sucked was you did not feel the speed at ALL! Even with the sport mode engaged, it was almost too comfortable. But then again, that's not really a bad thing. I think I just want an M car now

Thanks. The only problem is I've had to replace my passenger side struts/springs.....twice!
