Short Drive Ideas
Hi All -
I've searched the threads and am not finding the answer (I know, bad user). We are doing our first ED in October and will only have a few hours with the car (10:30am delivery and 4:00pm drop off at LogInOut). I figure that leaves us 3 - 4 hours of play time with the new toy. Any ideas of short drives with a fun town or 2 we could do in that time? Thanks!!

Head north on the A9 towards Nuremburg... you should be able to break free and hit a couple sectors of the "Speed Limit - Unrestricted" zone.
4 hours isn't alot of time.. especially considering you will hit rush hour 3:00 PM ... and of course there are the occasional "accidents" that you may be stuck in traffic with. I wouldn't go too far

Hmmm. Not many good options. I was thinking of heading out past the airport towards Landshut (castle). Anybody done this???

I have two ideas for you. The first one is in Regensburg. It is a nice Biergarten were you can eat and the go back to Munich. It takes you about 1.5 hours.
Google Maps But there is risk of hitting some traffic in Regensburg and on the A93 on the way back. The other one is another Biergarten with a nice view: Google Maps Also 1.5 hours if you drive not faster than 80-90mph. This one has the advantage that you will drive the A92. It goes by the airport. So the way back will be shorter (at least 30 minutes) and you can open her up after Landshut. There will be not much traffic. This is were BMW does the high speed testing around Dingolfing. Have Fun. -Andi |
