Whining sound from new BMW

No whining at all from my car. The only whining I hear is mostly people on this forum.

My 2011 328ix with manual sounds quite similar. It seems to be much more pronounced at a cold start-up (louder than in your video), but then tends to subside once things are warmed up.

Rdkind62...your one of the lucky ones "no whine"..but if you had that problem perhaps you wouldn't be sensitive to the noise because you've lost your hearing..my first guess is the assulting of your tacky, inconsiderate crap/so called music pouring out of your bimmer....which is a bummer.. So we are all whining...you're extremely clever..now aren't you. Try some growth hormones.

i had that in my 08, would usually happen when coasting and slowing down, between 40-50 MPH. didnt seem to notice it when accelerating. i kind of liked it, sometimes i pretended i was driving a ferrari

Seemed quite common when mine was new - as best I could localize the source it always came from the direction of the passenger seat every time I was going through turns with my wife along

I have a whinning noise that I believe is powertrain related on my 2009 328 xi. I suspect it has to do with the all wheel drive system although I don't know. The noise only occurs when moving and at all speeds. Its not a tire sound. Any experience at all with this?

I have this kind of whine on my "new" CPO 2009 328i E90. No noise when I'm accelerating, just when coasting at around 40 MPH do I get this ringing-like whine. It's like when you take a wet finger around the top edge of a crystal wine glass. That kind of ringing.

Might be the infamous transmission whine - mine does the same, and it's considered normal. Sounds a bit wheezy, for lack of a better term. I just keep convincing myself it's part of the BMW-ness of the car.

Get second opinion, my 328XI E91 doesn't make that sound it does whine a little at first when you roll away on a cold morning. After it warms up only noise it makes is the wind noise at 120+ now there is a lot of that!

The cold whinining you refer to is more present in my car (2009 328xi) when cold, but doesn't quit, just gets quieter
