BMW Technologies Save us?

On my 335d, I get annoyed when I try to play the stereo when parked with the driver's door open. The car continues to beep and beep and beep. Why can't I play the stereo w/o the car trying to warn me that my door is open?

So today, I dropped off the d for her 2nd maintenance. Lucky me, I got "hooked-up" with a new 2012 535xi with many more bells-and-whistles. Too bad that my baby d had to spend an extra night at the dealer, I get to play with a new 2012 535xi !!

When backing up into my garage for the night, I always open the driver's door to put the car into the proper and perfect position. With the d, this is no problem except for an annoying beep, but with a highly technical 2012 535xi, this is not easy.

So, as I back the car up slowly bringing her into position, I open the driver's door to ensure the final placement of this lovely car for the evening. And what happened?

The %$#%ing car goes into PARK.

Thought I hit something in my garage!

Why all this stupid technology?

Skynet perceived this as an attack and came to the conclusion that all of humanity would attempt to destroy it.

X5 does something similar, goes to Neutral if door is opened, very annoying when parking with door open.

Why all this stupid technology?

Because there are so many stupid driver's and too many lawyers that then sue other's for their stupidity, forcing things like labels on coffee cups that say "Caution: beverage inside may be hot and could cause burns". WTF!

LOL @Flyingman that is so true that is why the Sunroof will not be closed via key , My 02 MCS I could close my sunroof with the keys away from my car and my $63k 335d I CANT!!! WTF BMW instead the bastard opens Them!!!

That sucks. I have always been annoyed that I can't put my car into neutral without actually starting it up. My only because when I put two cars end on end in my garage that I often push them by hand the last few inches. If I did not do that then I'd not care.

You can always code it yourself.

AutoUnion as far as I am concerned NO ONE has been able to decode the bastrad and Im talking to GURUs on this and they had stated that it cannot be done unless you know how too!!
