X5 Question 2
I have a 2001 BMW X5 and have a second problem. I got the warnign light to check by brake lights and my running lights. I took both bulbs out and changed them and the right side still does not work. I have also changed the bulb and holder from one side to the other and the left side bulb works and the right side willl not.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. You can also contact me at benny224@aol.com. Thanks, John |

For the rears, a common failure is for the metal under the bulb to melt and short the bulb. If you search, you can find the DIY for it. You basically apply some solder to fill in the hole it creates under the bulb.

Here's a link:
http://www.xoutpost.com/bmw-sav-foru...ion-fix-4.html This explains it better than I did. I had the right rear replaced under CPO warranty, then the left went out. Did this fix, and it's OK. Now the right is out, so I need to do this to the right side, as I'm well out of warranty now. |
