Order now, get 2013 5 series?/ 2012 vs 2013 535i M sport package

Can someone clarify this for me? According to the main page, the 5 series went into MY 2013 on 5/15/12, so does that mean that every ED 5 series ordered after 5/15/12 was for a 2013? Or does it mean that it was even earlier, and that even orders in April for cars manufactured after 5/15/12 were 2013's?

My main question is, I'm assuming that I couldn't order a 2012 for ED if I wanted to right now, but the bmwusa.com site will only let you "build" a 2012. Is this just because they don't want people going to the site and then going to dealers not wanting to buy 2012's? If I can only order a 2013, I would like to be able to build one. Or should I just build it on bmwconfig, and not worry about it? Thanks.

My understanding is that the production has flipped over and only 2013s are being made. I've run into the same thing ordering my next ED (Nov 22 for delivery). Your CA should work to clarify any questions you have regarding the different feature sets. If you don't have a CA yet, Adrian has been fantastic working through my questions...

Sounds good. I'm just getting confused about the differences between the "M sport package" for the 2012 versus 2013. I think I have it figured out now. The 2012 M sport package included the multi contour seats and Dynamic Damper Control while (according to bmwconfig.com) the 2013 package does not. So the 2013 package is $1900 less, but doesn't include $2300 worth of options. Does it look like I've got it figured out? Thanks.
