Honestly, if the F31 was available in the states I would be very tempted. As it stands, BMW currently imports no station wagons.

I wouldn't mind having a bit of ground clearance on my secondary car - the E82 with sport suspension isn't really ideal for going camping and the F31 without sport suspension isn't a lot better - but that doesn't mean I want to sit five feet off the ground. I'm not going extreme offroading or anything, so a couple extra inches is plenty.

The F31 will be available starting Oct., so you do have that option. But it's just too long for my needs.

You sure about that? Everything I've read said we wouldn't have it until next summer. My dealer said the same thing.
