Negotiating on a 2012 550i - Thoughts?
Hello everybody,
This is my first post, thought I'd get the group opinion on my new purchase. We had a 2005 645ci which is no more...moment of silence ...We are currently negotiating on a 2012 550i with the following packages/options: M Sport Package Driver Assistance Package Convenience Package Premium Sound Package BMW Apps Smartphone Integration Heated Front Seats Split Fold-Down-Rear Seat Transmission: 8-Speed Sport Automatic Dealer has the price @ $74,570 Truecar says: Dealer Invoice = $71,090 (including $600 Regional Add Fees & $895 Destination) Average Customer Paid = $71,398 (including $600 Regional Add Fees & $895 Destination) What have you all been getting? Are there any discounts/incentives currently going on? Thanks for the help. |

There's a $3,000 option allowance and $750 loyalty cash available. That should help you get the price down a bit more.

Even if you only find a car with one of those features its worth the test drive to really get a feel how much better the car is. Those two things in my op and many others are worth their weight in gold.

Yep, should only be for 2012 as they make space for the 2013s.

RajG & SuperTerp: thanks for the tips.
We did drive one with the ARS, it was pretty sweet. In we got the dealer to give us a pretty sweet deal on the car mentioned in my original post. and as this car is going to my dad, he was happy with it. |

Try Costco as well!
If you're a Costco Member, you can get a referral to a dealer near you that will sell a BMW for "member price" which at my LA dealer was $750 over invoice. To that, subtract the current $3000 promotion from the factory and the $750 loyalty program, and you'll get it down pretty reasonably. Only applies to current dealer inventory. There's some non M 550i and just a few M Sport 550i...mostly graphite, grey, royal blue...mostly with black interiors.
Bought mine similar to your quote (minus driver assistance package) for almost $6300 off MSRP. Good Luck! |

You can do well now, I just landed a 12 at $500 over invoice and $3000 option / $750 loyalty. It's now up to $4000 and $750 if you can get it.
