6 Series
The BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

"f12 650 is WAY improved over the previous fugly model in back-end antics"

I thought that was a interesting quote from the thread below on the E46 side of the family.

http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=612636

Regardless of what he thinks of our funky bootied BMW's, he gives his impressions on some of the current new cars he got to drive at the BMW performance center. There is nothing earth shattering in the write up, but it may be of interest to anyone shopping for something new, so I'm sharing the info.

Here is my comment "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder". Some folks will not understand that and believes eveyone else should like what they like.... In his statement he stated that the older 6 models "jump out at you" and that is precisely why I bought the 6 in the first place. Back then when I had my 540 I just did not like the direction of the new BMWs "Bangle" and was actually looking to get out of the BMW lineup unitl when I saw the 6 series. My frist reaction was "this is different!". To grasp the idea of the new design was simple, you either hate it or love. No grey area. I like the newer lineup but it just did not jump out at me when I first saw the new design. It took getting used to which is the grey area for me. It should not take getting used to but should instantly say "I love this car." So which is why I say from the beginning. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. Now the new M6? That's a different story.

Yeah, the new ones do look nice, except maybe for the front end. I find it interesting that many reviews of the 550 slam it for feeling disconnected and a poor driving experience but the 650 gets good reviews on those same points. Maybe it's time for a test drive during lunch next week, although that always ends up being an expensive type of lunch.

I know what you mean. Dealer keep asking me to come in for a test drive but I try not to. I'm afraid I will come back with my bank account a bit lite.

I'm an e46 owner and I like the Bangle Butt and the old 6 series.

New 650 is nice but I would give it till the new updates to purchase one, that will probably not be for another 2 years.

I'll be crazy right along with you as I think the previous 6 looks waaaay better.
I do like the F12 6 but it is not as stylish and is too big. The F12 technology toys are amazing though.

Like that one. Ahh yes......the butts do make a difference. New 6 interior is excellent and do love the upgarded bagets, but they are already making upgrades to the new 6 that I believe the next model in 2 years would be the one to get. The 2013 model is already upsetting the owners of the 2012 ones.

Of course we will all say we love the way it looks right now, we are current owners!!!

However, I do really covet the new design.
