Exclamation Mayday! E36 shaking at 60 mph

Hey guys, I used to have 4 OEM wheels on my 1998 BMW 323IS coupe, and it runs smooth after I balanced them, no matter how fast i drive, there is no shaking on Steering wheel.
Recently, i put 4 after market wheels, 17x7.5 rim with 235/45-17 tire on it. I checked the spacing with my friend, and confirms that there is enough spacing for the new wheels to run.
However, here is what happen, after I balanced these wheels at pep boy, my e36 start to shake really, really bad around 60mph. I can't hold the steering wheel even though i use my muscle.
Lower than 60mph, everything is great, no shaking at all. and my e36 just finished aliment.
Well, here are what i had changed,
1. Left front control arms
2. Right front control arms,
3. L and R control arms' bushings.
4. four new break pads, and rotors.
5. Four wheel balanced
6. Aliment
What should i do? my body at All tune and Lube told me that everything under the car is perfect, no obviously problems.
WHAT SHOULD I DO????
MAYDAY!
feel free to text me at 202 644 3821

Where do you feel the vibration? Your hands or your ass?

If hands odds are better than good that it's your tie rods, ass RTAB's.

Tie rods then would be where I'd look first.

EDIT: Or ball joints. None of the three (2 ball joints -per side- or tie rods) should have any play in them.

But if a shop did an alignement, don't you think they would have mentioned if the tie roads had play in them?

Just thinking out loud here...

When my 318 would shake at 70mph-- I had the front control arm replaced, and smooth riding since.

Simple, they goofed up the wheel balancing. Take out back and have them re-balance all four wheels.

OEM = no shake

Aftermarket = shake

Wheel weights never installed/poor job done on Balance, or your BMW DOESNT LIKE CHEAP.

These wheels?

Hey guys, here is the update, i found out that my ball joints are bad, so i had changed both L and R ball joints with new arms and bushings. after aliment, it sill shaking, but it is much better than the last time.
Help...i can't find any other problems with suspension parts, i will try to balance the tires tomorrow, if it still shaking, i will change back to my old oem wheels.
60 small shaking
70-80 exterlmy shaking

What kind are they? Could always be a defect.

You should switch back to oem rims and see if problem goes away.

Today, i put my OEM wheels back to my E36, no shaking at all. However, when I put the After market wheels, shakes really bad!
What should I do?
The seller told me he won't refund at all.

Why do you think the seller sold them?

Call him on his sh!t and check the laws in DC
you might be able to get the law involved.

Did you buy from private seller, or a retail shop?

It sounds like the wheels (AFTERMARKET WHEELS) are either cracked & got welded bad, bent, poorly made, or balanced improperly.
Take them to a wheel specialist..
Or look in classifieds for BMW wheels F/S near you.

I'd burn the bastard down.

I thought you bought them new from PepBoys. If you didn't, instead of going back to them take it to a shop that has a Hunter Road Force balancing machine and see if they can balance it out.

Thanks, I brought it from a private seller. I went to pep boys to have the wheels balanced more than three times, but nothing changed.
The guy who work at pep boys bring me into the service area and let me see how those wheels are balanced, I see that the wheels are being balanced and the computer says 0.00.
But after i drive for a while, it shakes again, so i come back to pep boys, when they put my wheels on the balance computer, the computer read it is not balanced.
I saw they balanced and the computer read is 0.00, but as long as they put them back on my e36, driver for a while, and re-test them, the computer reading is not 0.00 but 1.75 or 3.75......
Anyway, I will fight for this

If you bought them from the seller with tires... un mount.
Inspect.

Something fishy is going on.

and.. still.. because the jerk that sold them to you DIDN'T disclose this "imperfection"
I would burn the fcker down.

Are the after market wheels you bought for a 3 series or did they come off a 5 series Bimmer?
If they came off a 5 series or they have too large a hub diameter you'll get lots of shake unless you have hubcentric rings to center them on the hubs of the car even if they're balanced correctly.
