AC Schnitzer Gran Coupe - Tuned to Perfection

AC Schnitzer has released a complete set of aftermarket additions for the F06 BMW Gran Coupe. ACS took on the difficult goal of improving the already aggressively styled Gran Coupe while retaining an elegant overall feel of the car. ACS's program for the BMW Gran Coupe offers top to bottom parts that leave no part of the car without improvement.

AC Schnitzer describes the bodywork for the Gran Coupe as "designed by perfectionists for perfectionists" and it includes a front add on spoiler, lower horizontal grills in chrome to match the kidney grills and a rear bumper add-on. The body work additions are subtle but give the car a unique look. To round on out visual changes the car is fitting with 21 inch wheels (19" or 20" also available) wrapped in 255/30/21s in the front and massive 295/25/21s in the rear!



On the performance side of things the engineers have finessed another 40 horsepower out of the turbo 6 cylinder for an impressive 360 horse power in total. To remove the extra exhaust gasses and make the car sound as good as it looks the car sports a dual exhaust with square exhaust tips exiting left and right and perfectly matching up to the rear bumper add-on bodywork. Deceleration was not neglected with 8 piston fixed calipers replacing the stock front brakes. To make the car handle as well as it looks, sounds and brakes the Gran Coupe was lowered on a complete suspension set.

The interior has been given a make over as well with aluminum accents, including a 'black line' aluminum iDrive controller cover. Additional use of aluminum includes pedals, and dead pedal foot rest. A "Evo" sports steering wheel rounds out the interior transformation.

Powerful dynamics, sporting performance and exclusive elegance in perfect form became available with the BMW 6-series Gran Coupe. Tuning fans can rejoice: once again AC Schnitzer has reinvented the top class four-door coupe.

With a performance upgrade from 320 to 360 HP in the 640i, AC Schnitzer again impressively demonstrates that there are no upper limits to dynamics and sporting performance. The concentrated power band widened by the Aachen specialists with intelligent technology is documented by the AC Schnitzer engine bay styling for the 6-series Gran Coupe. The AC Schnitzer twin sports rear silencer with chromed "Sports Trim" tailpipes (right/left), provides the matching sound track.

Deceleration too can be perfected. With the AC Schnitzer 8-piston high performance brake system for the front, the tuning experts have set new standards. The system - consisting of an 8- piston fixed caliper (left/right), the 8-piece set of brake pads and brake caliper holders - shows that even perfection can be improved. The same applies to handling: the AC Schnitzer suspension spring kit gives the already excellent driving dynamics a further boost.

The bodywork components for the 6-series Gran Coupé by AC Schnitzer were designed by perfectionists for perfectionists: front spoiler, chromed front grille with chrome strip, rear skirt extension and rear skirt protective film give the Coupe a bonus in sporting looks, which is continued in the interior with the AC Schnitzer "Evo" sports airbag steering wheel.

Top class equipment comes as standard with the BMW 6-series Gran Coupe. With targeted highlights of aluminum, AC Schnitzer gives the interior a sophisticated finish: the "Black Line" aluminum cover for the i-Drive system controller, aluminum footrests and pedals, and velours floor mats give the interior even more exclusivity.

The coupe's wheel arches are filled with wheels of various styles (Type IV BiColor, Type IV silver, Type VIII BiColor, black and silver), in 19" or 20" depending on type. Lightweight forged alloys and forged racing rims Type VIII BiColor are available in sizes 9.0 x 21" and 10.0 x 21" with 255/30 R 21 tires on the front and 295/25 R 21 tires on the rear.

I took a leap of faith and ordered the spoilers , exhaust and wheels for my frozen bronze GC and it should be done by next week ( crosses fingers ). Will post pictures when it arrives.
