2009 7 series cylinder/engine shutoff?

Lately when sitting at a stoplight for a few seconds, my vehicle will shudder for half a second or so, then be OK. Almost as if it is running out of gas, but it's not. Occasionally while driving 20-35mph it'll do the same stuttering for a longer period of time, 20-30 seconds. It's not a lurch-lurch-lurch, (like when something is REALLY running out of gas), but more of an overall car vibration/very slight shudder. It's not a tire/balance problem.

Of course, took it into the BMW dealership and they can't reproduce the problem. I am wondering if the 2009 has a primitive version of the engine start/stop function, or cylinder shutoff (99% sure it doesn't have cylinder shutoff).

Any similar experiences?

I don't have a 2009 but by car shutters sometimes when I come to a full stop, it feels like I poured bad gas.Not really sure what the issue is, maybe someone else can chime in.

It is more likely a fuel system issue. I had similar problems. The dealership kept the car for 3 days, thinking it was the dreaded HPFP or the injectors, like my previous 535. The fault was diagnosed to a faulty fuel line, which was replaced. Now it runs like a champ.

Also, never put poor quality or lower octane gas, no matter what the "experts" say. The Bummers drink fine fluids, much like their owners.

I had that problem once in a while, especially when the AC is off at a stop light. And now I am having the engine malfuction problem ( see my other tread ). I won't know the problem till next week when dealer has the car.
