First World Problems- e46 vs. e32
Ok, poor me.
I now drive a 2001 325i (e46) 5 speed manual, but theres a chance i could get my hands on a 1994 740i (e32). Which would you choose, and why? the 3 has 145,000 miles on it, the 7 only has 85,000- with approx. 30,000 on the engine. MPGs are totally different, feels of the cars are different, style, etc. you name it, its different, accept the fact that they are both beamers. as you can imagine, im at a stand still. any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Oh, also, there is a pic of each on my profile. thanks, fmarion |

They're 2 totally different cars so I don't see the quandry. Either you prefer the smaller sportier 3 series or the big 7 series cruiser. Over the last 21 years I've driven an E21, E36 and now drive an E46. The 7's are too big for me, though other prefer them.

I always choose the newer model for the simple fact that technology gets better as time goes by. An older car will be cheaper to maintain but there will be allot more issues so it will add up, so just stick with the 3 series unless you need more room.

E32 may be a very expensive car to upkeep. Parts and gas.
V8 = more issues. |
