The parts discount at my favorite BMW dealership is 20%, the labor discount is 10%. Here in Maryland, I've seen the discount rates vary from dealership to dealership. Also, no one at the dealerships seem to volunteer this information unless directly asked, "What's your BMWCCA discount rates on parts and labor?". It was a guy at an indie shop that first even made me aware that this thing even existed... go figure. Not to sound like a commercial, but the membership cost was recouped in my first service visit to the dealership. It is especially useful when I need work done to my old E30.

I bought a 2 year membership for $76 I believe. Plus, you get the monthly Roundel magazine which is nice. Other discounts using your membership are also available.

Does the membership stick with the car or only the person? Sometimes I ask my sister to take my car in for service, would the discounts still apply?

It a applies to the member, not the car.

Besides you get to know local fellow BMW owners and participate in driving events/meets etc! Your National membership also makes you a member of the local chapter.

2006 X3, 110k mi, I had the 100,000mi maintenance/warranty program and BMW has done all work for me so far without complaining. Head gasket leaked into the spark plug hole. Fouled spark plugs, etc. @ 80k mi. Repaired on warranty.
At 105k noticed small skip in the rear drive at slow turns in the garage after driving about 15/20mi (warming up car). Dealer changed the fluid in the transfer case and problem is gone now. Supposedly the OBE told the dealer that the fluid was done. Love the car so far. |

My 09 hit 97k on the way home from work. I just scheduled my final 6yr/100k mile service this morning for 10/1. All in all very happy with no major issues after warranty expired that wasn't covered by goodwill.

134,000 on our 2004 X3 3.0i
Just changed the valve cover gasket due to an oil leak. It was very dry and brittle and well overdue. Oil leak is gone. Also changed the (2) pre-cat O2 sensors at 134k. I was waiting for them to throw a code but it never happened. Manual says to change them at 100K. I was averaging 22 mpg before changing them so we'll see if it makes a difference in gas mileage. Still using original Expansion Tank, thermostat, hoses etc. Water pump and serpentine belt was replaced as preventative maintenance at 100k.

Just picked up a 05 3.0 with 120k for the wife. I'm not afraid of mileage and am very mechanical inclined.
Just wondering how many people have had to replace/rebuild there transfer case and what was the mileage? |

125000 today!
25000 from my personal benchmark of 150000 relatively trouble-free miles to buy another BMW!

115000K
Had the water pump, hoses and expansion tank changed last week. Along the with serpentine belt and tension-er. Had an oil housing leak fixed as well. Standard oil change, wheel rotate and balance, and a couple blown blubs were changed out. Funniest part was, I had JUST been picking on my wife about how her Mercedes had been giving her issues... and along came this.. lol! As an aside, the dealer did an excellent job, the 2011 328i w/ Navi loaner I had for three days was pretty cool, and the bill would have been ~$3600.00 ended up being $2800 due to the dealer's BMWCCA membership discount ... Pre-cat O2 sensors, plugs and cabin filter, I DIY'd @ 99K... made a difference in power/torque delivery. Didn't really notice a difference with the new cabin filter.

Just dropped off my X3 to get the brake pads replaced, the vehicle has just over 138.000mls. The shop said that the rotors did not need replacement, a pleasant surprise since the current set has over 93k miles (150.000km) on it. Also asked for the rear diff; front diff and transfer case were done back in May. Brake fluid flush, check a whole bunch of items for Inspection II, coolant change. Basically, a more thorough service to make sure it provides much more Fahrfreude to come
![]() I don't like the fuel consumption of my X3, but it does pretty much everything else pretty damn well. On-road, off-road, autobahn, bad weather.....it's hard to find a good replacement. |

94,459 miles , 2004 6MT
- just replaced transfer case fluid last week ( mystery clunk seems to have disappeared) -water pump replaced by indy shop 2 weeks ago -DIY within the last 4 months: brake pads, spark plugs, ignition coils, vapor barrier in all four doors (no more water leaks!), driving dog rear door/window, oil and filter change every 5000 miles - planning to replace 02 sensors (pre cat) and battery @100K - would also like to tackle trans and diff fluid some time in the future.. she's been keeping me busy but she still drives amazing!!! |

AzNMpower, have you changed the pre cat Oxygen Sensors? Looks like you're getting around 17 mpg. I recently changed my pre cat O2 sensors at 134,000 and now average 26 mpg highway and approximately 23 mpg in traffic.
