1998 Dinan M3 For Sale

Pics: http://www.photobucket.com/1998DinanM3_ForSale

I bought this 1998 M3 in 2003 at 58k mi with the Dinan power mods already installed. Over the next 3 years I completed the remaining upgrades listed. Being the obsessive compulsive car freak that I am I decided to dump $12k into a complete body on restoration, replacing all the body and window moulding and trim, tail lights, side markers, carpeting, floor mats, window tint, sill plates, interior door panels and the driver side mirror which had some rust on it. I’m sure I’ve forgotten s few items. The rational you ask? Well first, we’re all here so you should understand little of what we do is rational. Secondly, I was sure that I would keep this car forever and eventually swap out the supercharger for an HKS or maybe go turbo. Thirdly, I did mention the OCD thing right? Three years later I’ve changed my mind – big surprise right?

As for maintenance I have done much of the maintenance myself, except for the motor swap that was done at 100k miles when the head cracked. The swap was done by a well-known BMW mechanic in the Illinois area. I met him through the Windy City BMWCCA chapter and have used him the entire time I’ve owned the car. He is so well know I don’t think he would appreciate me posting his name as he has all the work he wants. I’m happy to provide this information further down the road. I have all receipts for maintenance and the restoration.
The car has no dings or scratches at all. It’s even hard to find swirl marks in the black paint. I hand wash it once a week just like the owner’s manual told me to. Twice a summer I take the wheels off and clean all the suspension, brake components, and the engine compartment. At one point when the brake components didn’t look clean enough for me I replaced the rotors and lines and had the callipers disassembled, stripped, re-coated and reassembled.

Inside is about an 8.5 of 10. Everything is very clean but I took off a point and a half for the very light wear on the drivers outer leather seat bolster. Outside is better than 10. How is that possible? Show up in a black factory painted car and I’ll show you.
The bad: The sunroof stopped working this year. The driver’s seat no longer reclines and the heated seat element hasn’t worked since I’ve owned the car – passengers have confirmed their side works. The euro headlight wiring needs to be properly soldered – the butt connectors I used are failing. The airbag light is on and the trunk light is out. I will fix all of these items or you can fix them yourself and we can subtract an agreed amount from our final agreed sale price.

Here’s a list of the upgrades:
• Dinan Supercharger
• Dinan Fuel Injectors
• Dinan Exhaust
• Dinan MAF
• Dinan Front Strut Tower Brace
• Dinan Rear Strut Tower Brace
• K&N Air Filter
• UUC Short Shifter
• UUC Cerametallic Clutch - Rated to 600 HP
• H&R Springs
• Bilstein Sport Shocks and Struts
• M3 X-Brace
• Angel Eye Euro-Style Glass Headlights and Projector Beams
• One Touch Sun Roof Opener
• Brembo Drilled Rotors
• Stainless Braided Brake Lines
• Clarion CD Head Unit (still have OEM head unit)
• AC Schnitzer Pedals
• JT Design Under Body Kit

If you’re in the area come out and see the car and we’ll take it for a spin. My 3MP camera doesn’t do the paint job justice. Yes, I may let you drive it. Depending on what you pull up in

Please post general questions in this forum and I’ll do my best to answer in a timely manner. PM me if you’re seriously interested in buying. Thanks for your interest.

Neville

12K on body work that involved no paint? Was 8K for the lube?

Post this in a classified section here or on bimmerforums. You will get more attention that the none you'll get here.

Perhaps I wasn't clear - paint was included. You must use expensive lube. I also noticed I forgot to mention asking price of $19,600.

You're about $7000 too high on that price there.
