Turner Motorsport Takes Momentum from Watkins Glen Win to Montreal

Turner Motorsport Takes Momentum from Watkins Glen Win to Montreal

Amesbury, MA. August 15th, 2012 -- Only one week after their Continental Tire 200 victory at Watkins Glen International, Turner Motorsport will be back in Grand Am Rolex Series action at the two-hour Montreal 200 at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The only Rolex Series race north of the border this season sees Toronto native Paul Dalla Lana with a firm hold on second place in GT driver points. He now stands 16 points ahead of third and 16 points from first with three races remaining in the season.

In Montreal, Dalla Lana will share the No. 94 Turner Motorsport M3 with Billy Johnson because of a conflict for Bill Auberlen. Johnson has raced the No. 94 machine as the third driver at Daytona, Homestead, Watkins Glen Six Hour and Indianapolis so far this season and substituted for Auberlen at New Jersey Motorsports Park, driving to a fourth place finish. Last year Dalla Lana and Johnson finished fourth in Montreal.

This strong driver lineup has not finished less than fifth in nine consecutive Rolex races, including wins at Mid-Ohio and Watkins Glen. Turner Motorsport stands second in Team points.

"We fired on all cylinders and made a strong move towards the championship at Watkins Glen," said Will Turner. "Despite the seeming similarity of the races at Watkins Glen and Montreal, the Montreal 200 has its own unique challenges and we will have to be on our game to continue Paul's move to the front. Paul and Billy had a good finish at Montreal last year, but we need to stay on the top steps of the podium."

Live timing and scoring from practice, qualifying and both races can be found on grand-am.com. The Montreal 200 takes the green flag at 11:15 a.m. ET on Saturday, August 18th and will be broadcast on SPEED television at 7:00 p.m. ET.
