20" Style 253 rims, anyone?

im looking at 20" Style 253 rims, anyone has it installed?

im torn between the style 253 and HRE P93L, but the price difference is so huge im leaning towards the 253s.

Despite the fact that most of BMWs press material shows the F01/02 with Style 253 Wheels, I do not think I have ever seen them in person...strange?
FWIW going by photos the HRE's look better. That said, I don't think they look double the price better. How much of a difference are we talking about?

I like the HREs better.
But like I said previously, not double the price better.
Tough call.

thats how the 253s will look on my car, same color except that i dont have the shadowline trim.

all in all, importing wheels and tires from the US will set me back approx $5,000 for the set, still about $3,000cheaper than HREs.

Hi Bruno,
Did you end up with the 253s? I was just wondering if you found the ride on the 20"ers noticeably harsh or uncomfortable? Would you have bought 19"ers instead? I just sold my 745 with 19"ers and now have a 740 with 18"ers which look small, and I really like your 20" 253s. Thanks!

Hi Ken!

I have the 20" style 253 for over a year now, no regrets! The car rides as smooth as the 18s except that for the first day or two, you will feel that the tires/wheels are a little heavier than the 18s you have now. After 3 days, you wont notice any difference.

Go for it, HK roads are too smooth to notice ride differences between 18s,19s,20s.

my car below:

Thanks Bruno! Your comments are exactly what I needed to hear. So I think I will do it. It'll take a month for the stock to arrive. I called the BMW dealer in Alabang and they said they didnt have stock as well, but they're a little cheaper than HK. Thanks again!

Bmw Hk is not cheap, so does Alabang offer cheaper parts prices vs prestige or autohaus?
