Dublin, OH! But you will still get yours before me. I am doing PCD.

800 number still says "in production" with an estimated completion date of 8/17. I am going to believe them and hope they can release the car and get it to me next week ( probably wishful thinking ).

Logistical question...obviously on the west coast, they train cars out. However, on the east coast / midwest - do they load up trains and move vehicles to hubs before shipping OR do they rely on individual trucks?

Vehicle has now moved from production Begins to finishing touches per website. Dealer says it may arrive on Saturday, but they'd need a day to prepare it for me to pick up. Grantsi, my completion estimate date was 3 before yours, so I would think next week is likely... But who really knows till it actually shows up.

Ordered July 27th, just went into production. Phone says completion scheduled for the 23rd. One question. I ordered a 35i with the M package. On the website, under the M sport package for my car, it just seems to list all the available options. This includes 'Sport Suspension Delete.' My build sheet from the dealer definitely doesn't say that and I ordered the Dynamic Handling Package (which removes the sport suspension delete automatically when you spec out the car on their website). DHP also shows up on the build sheet on the website. Any reason for concern or is this normal? It also lists both the high gloss roof rails and roof rails in Aluminum Satin...so clearly there's something inconsistent on the website description of the car.

I really have no idea why they delete the sport suspension like that and wondered why they did that myself. I wouldn't worry too much about what the website says. You will get the sport suspension, they didn't really delete it. And I remember now being confused about the roof rails too because mine says the high gloss and aluminum satin. As far as my eyes can tell, my car came with aluminum satin roof rails. I'm not sure if there would be a difference in the 28i and 35i, as I have the 28i. If you don't have it already, ask your CA for a "Vehicle Inquiry." I'm not sure if there is a better name for it, but it shows your exactly what was ordered and that is exactly how it will be delivered, regardless of what the website says. I know it's hard to not believe what the website says.

That's exactly how mine looks. Looks like (hopefully) they just include all the 'check' boxes.

In most markets M sport includes "sport suspension", but not here. Apparently BMW has decided that U.S. customers don't like the firmer ride, so they delete the sport suspension from the build, and provide the standard suspension instead. Whether or not you have the M Sport package, adding the Dynamic Handling package provides dynamic dampers.

Although when you check the box for the DHP on the website, it will automatically uncheck the box for sport suspension delete. Oh well. Either way looks like no reason for me to be worried. Thanks.

Thanks, we are having a great trip. PCD was a lot of fun. My wife wasn't feeling too well so she sat out some of the driving stuff. The hot lap was WILD! I really enjoyed the off-road course. It is short but shows what the X3 can do. I hope we never get in a situation with 2 wheels in the air, but the X3 can handle it. The factory tour was fun, but I'm an engineer so I'm a little biased. Throughout the X3 assembly line I only spotted one Blue Water so my wife's will be pretty rare I think. It was interesting to see left hand and right hand drives intermixed on the line. The robotics are pretty cool but a fair amount is still done by hand. They do a lot to reduce boredom and repetative use problems, such as rotating through 4 jobs each shift.

I'm already thinking about when I get to replace my vehicle with a BMW, after owning one for 2 days. There was a Vermillion Red ready for delivery that looked nice, I think M Sport. My wife got this one and I got her old Explorer, which I figure I will keep 4 more years. Maybe less now that I have the bug!

Per the 800 number....built and released to carrier. Any guesses on a delivy date ( to Chicago )

Should be FAST. I live on the Western side of Michigan (Kalamazoo) and my X3 was released to the carrier July 1st and it arrived at the dealer on July 2nd.

Yeah, my car finally arrived at the dealer!
Unfortunately won't be able to pick it up until 9/1
But I will finally get to meet Jon who got me a great deal

Jon send me a pic of our new car today!
He is trying to torture me bacause it is another 10 days until I will be able to pick it up

Picked up my new wheels today. Only 33 miles in, but I'm loving it.

Congrats...keep me posted over the coming weeks/months on your feelings about the car...after all, our vehicles are practically siblings.

Mine was finished yesterday. Now just waiting for it to get to the dealer.

Ordered mine August 21st!

Dealer told me 3 to 4 weeks before I can take delivery. Sounds about right on with everyone elses times.
