Does M Sport line come with Paddle Shifters?

i've tried searching, but can't find a definitive answer....i've read posts claiming the M Sport does not automatically include paddle shifters and you need to add the sport transmission to get them, but then BMW's own website states the following when describing what's included in the M Sport Line: "3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function M Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters"

so which is it?

The order guide doesn't indicate that -

m-sport is purely cosmetic, there are no performance related upgrades I am aware of.

It is not automatically included, but in my opinion it should be standard on either the Sport Line or M-Sport F30's.

That's the kind of thing they would do for a mid-cycle bump in around 2016.

Paddle shifters come with the sport transmission.

You need to add the $500 "Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles" option. Otherwise, it defaults to the Steptronic (without the paddles)

ok, the answer is apparently that you need to get the sport transmission to get the paddle shifters, which means the BMW website is wrong/misleading....below is what it says on BMW's site for the M Sport Line, under Compare 2013 335i Sedan Lines Options

Exterior
M Sport Line
Choice of: 18 Star-spoke light alloy wheels with run-flat performance tires or run-flat all-season tires

M Aerodynamic kit

Exclusive M Estoril blue exterior color

High-gloss chrome exhaust pipe tips

Shadowline exterior trim

Interior
M Sport Line
BMW M entry doorsills

3-spoke leather-wrapped multi-function M Sport steering wheel with paddle shifters

10-way power adjustable front sport M Sport seats

Choice of aluminum hexagon trim with blue or black lower accent or fine wood trim with chrome lower accent

Anthracite headliner

M footrest

Yes, the website is wrong. Point it out to your dealer and ask them to get the sport transmission thrown in for free. AFAIK the sport transmission is not included as a freebie on the m-sport cars.

I'm not positive, but I think we're all wrong. I think the M Sport steering wheel in an automatic transmission car probably is going to have paddle shifters no matter which automatic transmission is in it.

Wow, actually that's really funny because, if you take the site at face value, it would mean even the manual transmission has paddle shifters. (No, I'm not retarded, just pointing out that the "Compare Lines" page makes the sweeping statement above with no regard to transmission at all).

No, i was just at the dealer and they had an msport without sport auto and it does not have the paddles.

OK. Well then. There's our definitive answer.

I agree with your statement here... but are you implying that the paddle shifters are an performance enhancing upgrade?

The paddle shifters come in tandem with a "sport" version of the 8AT transmission (mechanically identical but slightly different programming). Whether or not most drivers can tell the difference is another discussion.

I personally see no point of ordering the m-sport unless one is going to order adaptive-M, paddle shifters with sport transmission, etc. I would much rather spend the cost on performance enhancements then cosmetic enhancements.
