New Owner, possibly dumb questions

Hi All,

I finally did it! I am now the owner of a 2012 740 Li! I am stoked as I have lurked and looked for years but finally did it. I have been in a euphoric state since receiving the car yesterday and have some questions. I did a Forum search and came up empty. It could be that I am too excited so I apologize.

BMW Assist
What is this all about? It appears I get this as part of the deal but I cannot see how to sign up.

BMW Connected Drive
This looks interesting for my kids but it seems I need a SIM card. Anyone using this service? How does it work whilst driving? Best SIM card deals?

Tint
The car is Sapphire Black Metallic with the back and side shades but I am 99% I want tint. Any recommendations?

All in all I am giddy and not even beginning to understand how cool the ride is. I look forward to interacting with you guys (and gals)

Congratulations! I'm on my 3rd 7 Series...and they are the best! Drive it in good health, and have fun!

BMW Assist is awesome. 8 years ago, I had a severe accident. An 18 year old, doing 55mph in a 35mph zone ran a red light and t-boned me (I was in an X5 4.4i). The car was totaled, and I was sitting there, with about 7 deployed airbags. BMW Assist unlocked the car, turned the lights on, killed the engine, and then called & sent the police, fire dept. and an ambulance! You must push the red SOS button, in an area where you have cell reception and set it up. The basic plan is free for 4 years. DO NOT pay for any of the extras...total waste of money!

I tinted my 2010 750i...dark on all back windows & light in the front. I did not tint my 2012, since being a Hybrid...I am lucky, blessed, fortunate that it has all around UV/Thermal blocking glass (and rear and side sunshades to boot).

Good luck!!
