Change transmission fluid or not?
2002 M3 SMG coming on 60,000 miles.
The Service Maintenance Checklist states that the transmission fluid should be changed during Inspection II (60,000 miles). Mike Miller, the BMW CCA tech guru recommends in his Lifetime Maintenance Schedule that the tranny be drained every 30,000 miles. However mounted to the tranny itself is a placard that says "lifetime fill - do not change", which is also the stance of the BMW service adviser. My local independant shop has also stated if BMW says "lifetime" then not to tamper with it. So which to listen to!?

CHANGE THE FLUID.
I change mine every 25K miles or so. But 50K - 60K would be fine.
