How to remove rear bumper?

Got into a minor rear fender bender, like most smart and broke owners I'm looking to remove it myself. But have no idea where to begin. FYI, dealer wants 1,300 to do body work and paint ! Found someone that will do it for 300, he's a between jobs professional. But I have to remove it and patch it up, which I'm sure I could do, if only I could remove it!

BMW has forced the online version TIS to shut down so all the links to the old site no longer work.

You will have to buy a copy of the TIS from eBay (DVD) to get the instructions for the rear bumper removal. I have not seen a DIY for the rear bumper, but there is a good one on this site for the front bumper.
