At 16-17 knots, that's only about 20 mph, it seems like forever! At least you don't have to worry about hurricane storms - there's a youtube of a carrier going through a hurricane and that would be gut-renching if your car was on that ship.

According to the 800 number my car will be finished on Monday. The trick is to get on a ship. Sometimes it happens right away sometimes it take a week to get on a ship. Since I am on the East coast the distance is much shorter. I should get my car end of September at the latest which is exactly how I timed it since I will have a car until then to drive.

The 1800 number used to give September 6 as completion date for my production. Today it got changed to September 7. Is that normal?

I ordered mine around 6/20, car docked on 8/27. Car should be ready some time this coming week of 9/03.

I ordered a 2013 335 on 7/16 & as of today still no production date.

I noted the same change today when I called the 800. Interestingly BMWUSA still shows me waiting for production. BTW my CA did confirm production start as well.

When did your car first go into production? Just trying to get an idea of when mine will be finished. I ordered on 8/25 and went into production on 8/30, hoping to have the car early October. I am on the east coast too, and right near the port.

August 8 or 9. That is the time frame when it changed from Ordered to production started. Don't forget the factory shutdown I believe for at least a week after that.

Ordered on 8/17 went into production on 8/28 and when I called the 800 number on the 29th I was told it would finish production on September 4. I checked this morning and the car is now in the body shop and the production end date is still 9/4. I'm hoping for delivery by the end of September.

I was supposedly given the dealers slot that he updated to reflect my order. Did this 8-7. This car's status has not changed since day one. I feel like Rodney dangerfield.

You can specify to the CA where you would like to have it built. I requested for a ULEV 133N designation which is built in Germany. The 133O build is in S.A. You also don't want a SULEV engine which is a modified N20 that has less history - its engine designation is N26.

It's the 328i xDrive with N20 engine, probably assembled in Germany, since it doesn't say SA production.

Oberon just reappeared on marinetraffic.com. West of Baja California

Update: Ordered 6/20, car will be ready this Wednesday, 9/05. So about 11 weeks, but I'm on the West Coast, so delivery would have probably been about 9 weeks out if I was on the East Coast.

Yep, I saw that. The Toscana (previous ship out of Bremerhaven) is in Port Hueneme now. Oberon should be there tomorrow - right on schedule.

With these two cargo vessels there should be a good selection of Bimmers available soon.

I've been checking inventory via cars.com for several weeks. Not much availability of 335's in So. Cal. dealers. I would expect that to change within the next week or two.
