As I eagerly await the arrival of my X1, I came across this BMW VIN decoder that was pretty spot on in identifying my vehicle, including all the options I selected. You only need the last 7 digits of your VIN to use it. http://www.bmwvin.com

so should we expect ordered cars on the West coast on Mon or Wed of next week?

What is the typical time between docking and being loaded onto a trailer?

really hoping by the weekend ... But it's a holiday weekend, so who knows - could help and could hurt the situtation. I'll call my CA at the end of the end of the week and see if he's got any sort of estimate.

It is my understanding that cars can be at the VPC for as few as 3 days to a couple of weeks. I'm hoping it's only 3 days. I don't want to have to make the last payment on my extended lease that is due on September 2nd.

My CA just called and indicated that my car has been released to the carrier...

This means I'll have my car as soon as tomorrow and as late as whenever the truck fills with cars to the SF Bay Area.

My sDrive arrived at the dealer today, so I suspect all those in the Bay Area have their ordered cars too. I elected to have it PDI on Tuesday so that they can have the Start/Start default to the last setting used instead of always On. I may stop by to confirm the type of PS it has since I elected Servotronic.

Finally!!!

For a while I thought my car was the only car on the Asteria Leader that hadn't made it to the dealer. I just got a call from my CA and my car is finally at the dealer. She asked me if I wanted to pick it up today and OF COURSE I said YES. She is looking for someone in Service (on a Sunday?) to complete the final prep. As excited as I am to see the car, I just realized I haven't even driven an X1 yet. What if I don't like it? I think my issue will be with the lower seat position. Coming from an X6 is going to be a bit of an adjustment. But everyone else seems to love their new X1. I hope I will too.

I don't think my car arrived yet (East Bay, SF). Wonder how the carrier works - does it go from dealer to dealer in a certain area? Guessing it arrives tomorrow but Service is closed again tomorrow, so looks like Tuesday at the earliest.

That's odd, perhaps the carrier is still filling the truck to your area. Is it going to Pleasanton, Berkeley or Concord? Could it be that they don't have the resources to prep your car over the holiday and are keeping quiet about receiving it? I'm sure you'll get a call on Tuesday if you are sure it was on the Asteria Leader.

Pleasanton... Probably it arrived today and their service bay is closed. No problem though because I really want to schedule programing the engine on/off to default OFF
