Brake Pad Min Thickness

My front pads and rotors are still original at 97k. I have the 6 year/100k maintenance plan.

Last month when in for oil/inspection I requested new front pads/rotors because I felt brake pulsation. They agreed but replaced the rear because there was a hard spot on pads. Problem gone so they were right but here is my question:

What is the front pad minimum thickness? I always thought 3mm was what tripped wear sensor.

They said front pads were still at 7mm. I pulled tires off today and measured 3.7 mm and 23.6 on rotors. I know min on rotor is 23.2.

pads wear differently depending on your driving style. if you like to drive often, fast, and brake hard you're going to wear your brakes a lot faster

bmw suggests changing it at 3 mm and the wear sensor goes off at approximately 2 mm
