Looking at first lease, need help please
Greetings all...first let me apologize for my ignorance here, but I am looking into my first ever lease of a vehicle, so I am a bit overwhelmed. I am in So Cal.
Here are the parameters I need some help with. First, I have already started with a CA when I was in for service on my CPO 2007 335 which has less then 100 miles left on the 100,000 extended warranty and I wanted to see what options I had getting a new 3 series. So I have likely started my check with a mistake after reading lease threads here. They already know the monthly payment I am shooting for. I am looking at a well-optioned 2012 328 with a total suggested price of $50,295. I have since researched on Edmunds a True Market Value of $45,997 as packaged. I have some equity in my '07, they are offering about $8,500 since it has a Carfax accident from the owner before me. And the dealership has a $1,000 rebate offered. Residual on the lease worksheet for the 328 is .59 and $29,674. In the first worksheet for the 36-month lease, they have a 2 in the MF box (I have excellent credit so I assume I have play there). Fees listed are $80 for docs and $396 for license (I assume no play there) and $925 for acquisition. No security deposits are listed. Also, nothing listed in GAP Premium and it sounds like I should get GAP insurance from my research. I have offered some cash down, but it now sounds like I should not do that as it is not refunded if car is totaled, etc. That may better go toward multiple security deposits it seems. So, after my rambling here, I am hoping for some help in understanding what options I have to play with and suggestions how to go back to the CA and get my best possible deal since I have always purchased and am so new to the lease option. Thanks in advance for any help those of you smarter than I can provide
