Pretty good deal and mileage remaining. Guess I should waited a little longer.
Any chance selling the wheels? Or trade?

Truthfully, we are trying to 'downsize' both cars as we want to buy another property. Considering several options, including a Golf R, Chrysler 300SRT8, Taurus SHO. Open to suggestions….. I will wash car and post photos..

470hp/470lb-ft, Adaptive Radar CC, Blind Spot Monitoring, Rear Camera with cross path detection, Front/Back Parking Sensors, Launch Control (new for '13), Forward Collision Warning, Ventilated/Heated Front Seats, Heated Rear Seats, Heated Steering Wheel, Heated and Cooled Cupholders, 18 speaker 900 watt Harman Kardon with 1 subwoofer, Panoramic Sunroof, Adaptive HIDs, Auto High Beams, Automatic Wipers, Keyless Comfort Access, SRT Timers (0-60, 1/4, 1/8 timers, G Rating, Braking, GTR style gauges), Eagle F1 Supercar Summer tires, etcetc for 54k.
No soft close doors, or power trunk (it hydraulically opens, manual close). And the interior is on par with a 5 series, not full of cheap hard plastics. It doesnt have the brand cachet of a BMW but my Chrysler has some stuff my bimmer doesn't. I optioned up a similar 550 and it was ~70k. I'm actually financing it because it was so darned cheap. Don't expect strong resale value, typical Domestic resale levels unfortunately. If you don't mind not having a German Luxo brand, I love my car. Bought it 11/2011 when it barely first came out and have 14k miles. Its my DD. Not a single issue, no repairs, etc I don't work for Chrysler haha

I sat in one in the showroom. It is mile years behind my 7 in terms of fit and finish, but it is still appealing in a strange way. Does it lease well?

The only grips on the SRT8 is it doesn't have 8 speed tranny while the 300S has it.
But the SRT8 is the ONLY American sedan I would consider for this moment.

Now that you've opened that door...I was thinking the same. If one of the things you like about your 7 is the fit and finish (and, frankly, I cannot understand why anyone would not give the 7 applause for quality build), then it seems to me that the 300 is a bit of a step down in this regard. My test, if I went this route, would be how would I feel when I'm driving and see a car like my 7. [Full disclosure - in the last picture I saw of your 7 the car looked gorgeous.] I know you have to do what you have to do though. Good luck with everything! Hope you'll still stick around this forum.

![]() But to the OP, have you considered a moderately optioned 5 series? Stay in the family but reduce your payment. Good luck Chris

If by moderately optioned you mean a 550, payments will close to $900 I assume? Also, do you guys think I should post the lease on leaseswap? I also have an m3 conv lease that we are trying to exit..

I would recommend trying craigslist first. I've transferred 4 leases via cragislist successfully, and none unsuccessfully.

OP alternative choice, modern, elegant, big, high tech.
xts lux $49,610, xts base $43k+. Drive it 2-3 years. 499/mo lease $3.2k down YRMV http://rumors.automobilemag.com/2013...ay-122747.html http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2010/01...pt-videos.html Last edited by eLECTRO eDITION; 09-06-2012 at 11:45 AM. |

Its too bad, I'm a domestic fanboy. If Cadillac had made the Ciel or Ciel-based 4 door, or Chrysler the Imperial Flagship I'd have gone that route rather than BMW. But no domestic automaker has a proper S Class/7 Series/A8 fighter, their loss... From Car & Driver ![]()

cadillac is almost there. I hope they don't take a dump and go the route they went in the 80's, they got a second chance but doubt they can make it a third. the ctsv is a great car but lacks the refinement of the germans, but it has potential as a car and for the brand.

13 XTS is a logical choice for the OP stepping down from F02. XTS is luxury, tech, edgy eye grabbing aesthetics, image, comfy, Cadillac customer service, drives excellent with magnetic suspension and low 40s starting point as shown on cars.com. Marchionne's SRT, Taurus SHO is a jog in the wrong direction coming out of F02, XTS is a logical reversion from F02. XTS front wheel drive and vehicle weight makes for a pleasant drive in the rain. XTS is superior, higher image, status over SRT & SHO @ low $40k coming from F02. YRMV
An XTS would be a logical and progressive move exiting from F02. CEIL, I have seen it at trade shows, many times, always exciting. CEIL is as imagined and destined only to be a trade event showcase for styling cues, a runway model. Ciel means SKY en François. The CIEL is a brilliant concept. If the OP intends to make a significant cut to his debt to asset ratio, a 12' Passat for 36mo. @ $209/mo 1999 down would make an accountant smile.
