Can the ASK Mode button be programmed?

2006 750i E65
i have a problem with the Mode button on the ASK unit but i am not sure if it is an issue with the ASK unit (malfunction) or is it a programing issue.
initially when i pushed the mode button it wont do anything. it wont change the mode from AM to FM to CD etc.
i made some changes to my MMIGT module over the last few weeks (none related to the ASK unit) and now when i push the mode button the radio turns off.
any idea how to fix this issue?

Assuming the changes were related to coding, you may have accidentially changed the below setting. I've always assumed this told the MMIGT that a facelifted ASK was installed with the MODE button. My 2005 is set to "not active".

not sure if it a code issue or the ASK hw issue?
