Looking at an 05 325xi

How can I tell if the cooling system has been attended to? Also, how do I know if anything that has been recalled has been attended to?

At 110k I'd be spending $9k, which for my area seems to be fair if not just under fair market value.

This will be my first BMW and I'm not opposed to paying for some maintenance, I'd just like to know what I need to do.

I've been looking at the wiki too, but I thought I'd ask here on the forum.

"What needs to be done ?"

Just *read the Forum*, mang....scroll backwards through the threads and see what we go through to keep these cars up and running....

Where do you live ? Do you really need AWD ??

It's for the wife and I'd feel much better if she had AWD. We are in the Chicago area...roads are garbage in the winter out here!

I am reading the forums and getting a primer, but I'm just trying to get additional info in a thread is all. Basically, I'm to look at wiring for lights, the vanos (though I don't know what I need to notice) and the water pump to ascertain as to whether it has been replaced or not. Everything else SEEMS to be common used car checks.
