Heater always on
Heat is always on with blower as well as when ac is on. Heat mixes with ac air. Changed heater control valve. Still have same issue. Any ideas on what I could try next?
Only thing I can think of is to bypass heater core with the hoses. I have 95 530i. Thanks for any help. Last edited by cyclingkevin; 08-15-2012 at 05:51 PM. |

Stupid question, but did you adjust the wheel in the middle of the vents on the top of the centre console?

I have used that vent setting and heat is on. It does get hotter when adjusting heat setting with blower. I am replacing connector as it was brittle from heat and age.

Are the heater valves getting any power?
Use a DMM. Make sure they audibly click closed when the a/c is on. |

Digital Multimeter.
You could also use a volt meter or a test light. Basically anytihng to prove that power is coming out of the three pin connector for the heater valves. |

Hi all.
Replying tom paperplane and possibly a help to cyclingkevin, I checked and I got power on one of the pins. Any more tips on what to look for after that. Best regards and thanks for the effort. |

Check for resistance across the valve's pins. There should be some rather than 'infinite'. Open circuit means new valve.

Hi all.
Just finished the tip from BMW fatherfigure and the results were from 13 to 26 between the three pins. Any more ideas for this. Thank you so much for all the help. Best regards |
