The Cowboys aren't going anywhere this year, the Giants let them win.

It was the only way to ensure they would win the Super Bowl again.

Oh a quick *PSA*

If you are unable to give props when and to whom they are due, leave the Sports talks to those of us who can. Even teams I can't stand will get praise from me for wins or great performances.
Running in only to say "look, your team lost blah blah" but no "congrats" for wins really just makes friction and flaming. I'm sure most can agree... The less of that, the better.
I'm all for Sports Talk... Hating, not so much.:thumbdown:

It was a great win for the Cowboys. Now their fans think they are a shoo-in for the Super Bowl. Should be fun when they fail later this year. Their defense is markedly improved with their 2 new corners. O-line still a ticking time bomb.

Did you read the Dallas Morning News? Good lord, one game and suddenly Romo is a hero. He started rough and then came around and took full advantage of the depleted Giants secondary. They played well considering all circumstances and did indeed have a great start to the season. They are 1-0 though, not 10-0.

But yes, I agree. One game and the Cowboys are clear favorites for the SB. Loss in the next game and everyone should be fired, especially Romo. What a joke...

The Alex Smith redemption train continues to rumble, with a big assist from a surprisingly weak GB defense. Some of those completions looked like practice. Some milestones from the SF Chron:

San Francisco ended an eight-game skid at Lambeau Field that dated to 1990, snapped Green Bay's 13-game home winning streak and held high-powered Green Bay under 24 points at Lambeau for the first time since 2010.

Yeah, who were those guys who were saying we blew it for all time by drafting Smith instead of Rogers? They were, uhh, that is, I mean, uhh . . .

Alex Smith: (20-for-26, 211 yards, 125.6 rating), tossed a 14-yard second-quarter touchdown to Randy Moss and threaded a 4-yard dart to Vernon Davis to give the 49ers a 23-7 lead midway through the third quarter.

YEp^^^ Alex and the Niners looking damn impressive in GB against a solid team! They appear to be favs in the West!

How bout RGIII going OFF on the Saints in their house on his NFL debut!

You think Mark Sanchez doesn't have a fire lit under his ass? Best he's looked as a Pro.

Peyton Manning... AFC North, you are officially put on notice LOL!

RGIII had it going on all right. ESPN was saying he stands alone as a rookie Qb with no interceptions in his first game. Small thing perhaps but the game was not. One hopes Luck lands on his feet, he does seem to have a lot of the right ingredients.

On Sanchez, jeez, I wish Tebow had gone to a team with a serious and pressing need at Qb. Would be more entertaining.

Whoa, I just now read about this, couldn't watch the game yesterday. Akers' 63 yard record tying field goal with a twist. Amazing stuff:

his confusion is because they're in the AFC West.

Anyway, Peyton looked good, but SD has always had his number. I'm really looking forward to seeing those two play twice this season

After week 1 (because we all know that week 1 is a perfect indicator of the rest of the season )

San Francisco is my NFC favorite, with Dallas a distant second. Houston and Baltimore look to be the class of the AFC.

Mario Williams is the worst free agent pickup. Peyton Manning is the best.

Chris Johnson won't gain 1000 yards and I will laugh about it.

Just heard an amazing stat:

Who has the "highest QB rating in NFL history in season openers?"
Peyton, Brady, Marino, Aikman, Montana? Nope.

Tony Romo!

Not a surprise at all. Tony Romo is Mr. October (and September ). In baseball, that's a good thing. In football, not so much. Just think if he had a real NFL quality O-line in front of him.

Gotta give it up to Seattle... They came to play and play well!
Will say the Refs blew a bigtime call allowing that illegal hit on Sean Lee yet calling a personal on Smith for a touch outta bounds.
Regardless... Seattle owned today.

Please ask Sean Lee if he'd like his teeth back. We found them cleaning up after the game in the first row seats.

Did you by chance see the non-calls on obvious holding by Cowboys too? You're right, the refs did blow that game badly, for both teams. But I doubt it would have changed the "Wood Shed" dynamics of the game.

Making fun of something that is a result of an ABSOLUTELY unnecessary helmet contact (which, trust me, could be just as painful and injury-prone to the hitter) shows you've never done any serious sport.

Looked legal to me. When the forearm, shoulder and helmet all arrive at the same time, and the chin goes up, that means short guy just knocked the snot out of big guy, legally. I doubt there will be any fines.
