X3 voice quality when using hands free

I have a 2013 X3 and use it with an Iphone 4S. I have made calls both with the iphone connected in the media adapter and with it just connected via blue tooth. The voice quality as received by callers at the other end (and through me leaving messages on my home voice mail) is very poor, cuts in and out and is sometimes unintelligible. If I use the phone with my bluetooth headset, wiht the phone in or out of the media adapter, voice quality is excellent so this is not due to carrier (Verizon) or location but must be due to the microphone pickup.

Has anyone else had this experience? Do I have something that is defective?

Sounds like something is not right. I also have a Toyota with an aftermarket Bluetooth system that sucks compared to my Bimmer. But even the sucky one the issue is more background noise than volume and such. In my Bimmer it's really very good and often people can't tell I'm in my car unless I'm accelerating hard thus making engine noise.

I obtained my car late last week and also experienced very poor signal reception. The signal also seems to cut out or not be received at all during tests. Will monitor for another week and will have this feature checked.

I have a 2011 35i and the sound is crystal clear and it does not cut out. I would get it checked out.

I too have a 2013 X3 that I use with my iPhone 4S. My Bluetooth audio sounds great for both calls and music. I agree you should get it checked.

Everyone I've spoken to using my iPhone4 on our 2013 x3 says it sounds really good. I've also spoken to my wife when she was driving and it sounded very clear. I'm not using the adapter. The phone is just sitting in the cupholder.
