Average Tyre Life

I know this is a vague question, but say if you have mix of city and highway driving, what is the normal average minimum and maximum tyre life you guys have seen on your E60's? Please contribute min, max, tyre make and model.

1. 25000
2. 30000
3. 35000
4. 40000
5. 45000
6. 50000

It can vary significantly depending on the tire and type of driving. Aggressive driving [and not rotating the tires] will lead to more trips to tire store.

I will never rotate tires it's not helping to longer life, it's making you pay more and for almost same tire life span.(you may getting extra 5,000 miles at most) That's what american consumer doesn't know, it's myth. It's cheaper just to replace two tires then all at same time.
It's scam by tire manufactures.

I'd say depends on the tires as well, some all season has very soft compound and wear faster (less mileage). but in general terms around 30k-miles, I don't like driving with semi-bald tires in Seattle area (it rains 8-month out of the year here, I mean 8-straight months total!)

My all-season Michelin Pilot AS rears lasted just 15K on my 550i, fronts would be probably in 20-22K area, but I replaced all 4 with summer Bridgestone Potenzas - hard to tell yet what mileage I get, but ride became substantially harsher.

Has anyone had the problem where the front tyre's are wearing off from inside faster than the outside. I have had two changes of tyre's and wheel alignment was done on both sets of tire, but the front one keeps wearing off from inside. Is there something else wrong?

I have same thing, even BMW dealer did already three times wheel alignment. I guess it's sport packg aftermath. The car sits lower so heavy weight from V8 make wheels worn this way.

I am sorry but I don't know much on these, what should I check on the control arm? Are you referring to the bush, other than the bush what else can I check on a metal rod?

This is really low, do u race on them?
I have same set up fronts (Bridgestone) around 30,000-35,000 and rear (Yokohama Advin S4) now is 14,000 miles right on half of life, I guess I can get another 12,000.

Guys, any help is welcome. Apart from control arm bushes, is there anything else I should for the above problem? Tyres are due soon, so I need to know how to stop the uneven inside wear on the front.

On the front ones I can probably get another 5000 or so, but my rear ones go bad fast, specially since they come with a negative camber the inside of my tires are gone before the outside reach even half life
