WTF?!?! What happened?

Is this going to be a full deductible repair? I'm banging my head right now....F*%k...

I've not the slightest idea what actually happened. I went out to my car and I noticed something wasn't right....and well something is definitely not right...$h*t F*&$

Mine did the same thing.

I think I bumped up to a parking block and the rubber got caught.

I stuffed it back underneath for now.

I will have the dealer replace when I go in for an oil change which according to the computer is at 20k miles. 20k for a first oil change?

Will dealers replace oil for free after 1 year.

Free oil changes are under warranty. Plus I drop in whenever I need an oil top-off and they do it without a question.

Just to make sure, this isn't something a warranty would cover. Will I have to make an insurance claim on it, any idea what the cost will probably be? Greater than the 250 deductible?

Yeah you gotta adjust your parking style with these low front ends.

I loaned a Ferrari to a friend who ripped off the front air dam on a speed bump showing off at his golf club. It was only about $850 as I remember.

Not a warranty item.

free early oil change in the first year

Is it the fender liner? Can't see it that well. If it is, grab some screws and oversized washers and bolt it back on. Looks like something that could be fixed easy enough...but I could be wrong. Can you post better pictures?

Anyhoo. Definitely not warranty-able and I don't think it's worth filing a claim over either. I'm sure if you just take a closer look underneath, I bet you could take the recommendation about the washers and put it back in place...and no one would know the difference.

I guess you pull up to that curb just a little too far If the rubber piece is not torn, I am sure its repairable.

I think it costs somewhere around 100$ including parts and labor.

Same thing happened to me on my old 535xi. I think I put it in the trunk and left it there when the lease was up.

My long retired 325iT had this identical problem except mine was ripped bad enough that I accidently ran over it on the highway. It cost $135 for a new one installed by BMW approved auto body in 2007. Took less than an hour. My dealer paid for it but only because the offending parking block with a steel anchor rod was on his lot. No questions asked. Good PR. Bought two cars since from them.

I took it into the dealer today. He just popped it back in. I'll leave it like that until it gets bad and just replace it altogether. He said off hand it shouldn't be more than $75.
